 Olympic Sprinter Inspires Youngsters

akpr met with Leon Baptiste when he visited Bishop Hooper School in Shropshire to give both pupils and staff some professional advice and encouragement on the importance of regular exercise and the enjoyment of playing sport. Leon won a Commonwealth Gold Medal in the 200 metres and was a member of the British team that won the 4x100 metres Gold in Delhi 2010.

He took up sprinting after suffering a serious leg injury whilst playing football for a London club in a Sunday League match, up until the time of his injury he had a promising career in football.

Leon is on course to compete in the London Olympics but will have to secure his place at the qualifying event to be held in Birmingham taking place in June.
